In an absolute display of grit and endurance, Rachel Entrekin didn’t just win the women's division at this year’s Cocodona 250—she beat the entire field. Traversing 250 miles across Arizona with 38,800 feet of grueling elevation gain, Entrekin crossed the finish line in 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 48 seconds. The historic performance makes her the first woman ever to win the race outright, setting a brand-new course record and solidifying her place among ultra running legends.
Over the course of two and a half days, Entrekin systematically dismantled the competition on one of the most brutal trail courses in North America. Fueling on mashed potatoes and operating on just a single 19-minute nap, she maintained a relentless pace through extreme temperature shifts and technical desert terrain. When asked after the race about her mindset through the endless miles, her philosophy was as simple as it was powerful: "Why not you?"
Entrekin’s performance isn't just a win for ultra running; it’s a masterclass in belief that proves women are capable of setting the standard at the highest levels of action sports. Long live the Queen of Cocodona. LFG.
